About this briefing

ESG is a major focus now and in 2020 for FCA and other regulators (Bank of England and PRA) including ESMA, and new regulations (Disclosure and Suitability) are proposed for implementation in Q1 2021. These will affect any firm managing money for investors or distributing products to investors.

This online briefing will focus on understanding the reach of these regulations, how they will affect firms’ investment and distribution strategies, and what disclosure and suitability look like in practice through an ESG lens.

Jeffrey Mushens

This briefing will be led by Jeffrey Mushens, the TISA lead on ESG.

A Chartered Accountant, Jeffrey Mushens has over 40 years’ experience in the City with strong business expertise in four areas, namely; investment trusts, executive responsibility for retail fund management business, implementation of new regulations for financial services businesses and of industry good practice guidance, and relationships with regulators, Government and government departments.

Currently Technical Policy Director for TISA, Jeffrey’s responsibilities are focussed on the implementation of regulatory and technical changes, the development of industry good practice guidance for firms and technical solutions to financial services issues.

Previously Jeffrey was a member of M&G’s Executive Committee and a main Board Director, setting the strategic direction of what was a public company with a high profile in the retail investment market. Jeffrey has run his own investment company and also worked for a number of investment banks.
