Hortense Bioy

Hortense Bioy, CFA, has been director of sustainability research at Morningstar since 2018. Based in London, Hortense leads Morningstar’s ESG research efforts for the EMEA and APAC regions, with the objective of educating investors and providing them with the tools they need to evaluate funds through an ESG lens. Prior to this, Hortense was European director of passive strategies research for seven years. She led an award-winning team that provides research on ETFs and index funds. Hortense joined Morningstar as an equity ETF analyst in 2010 from Bloomberg where she was a financial journalist. She began her career as an M&A analyst at Société Générale in Hong Kong. Hortense holds a master’s degree in finance from Paris Dauphine University and a postgraduate degree in finance from Paris Sorbonne University. She is also a CFA charter holder.
Imogen Garner
Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright
Imogen Garner is a UK and EU financial services law and regulation lawyer based in London. Imogen focuses her practice advising a broad range of clients on the UK and EU financial services regimes. Her clients are based in the EU and globally. As head of our buy-side regulatory practice, she has a particular specialist focus on asset and wealth managers, custodians, depositary banks and other service providers to asset managers and funds. Imogen's asset manager clients employ diverse strategies, from UCITS and traditional long-only managers through to hedge, real estate, private equity and infrastructure funds. She has also worked with a number of asset management industry trade bodies, including the Investment Association, AIMA and the BVCA. Outside of the asset and wealth management sphere, Imogen's financial institutions clients include significant global banking institutions. Imogen has assisted clients with significant regulatory change projects, as well as their on-going interactions with regulators. She advises regularly on the financial services aspects of corporate transactions and on the regulation of securities offerings and fund-raisings. As well as advising regulated institutions, Imogen has worked within the regulator. She spent nine months seconded to the General Counsel's Division of the Financial Services Authority (the FSA, as it then was), where she advised the FSA's CIS Policy Team and HM Treasury on the EU's Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive. Imogen is increasingly recognized as an expert in the Fintech, Regtech and cryptocurrencies regulatory space. She is a regular speaker on these topics and co-leads our Fintech regulatory practice in London.

Rachit is a part of Global Responsible Investment team at Aviva Investors which undertake stewardship activities including proxy voting and company and thematic engagements. Rachit follows Aviva Investors’ ESG integration approach across Multi-asset, Macro and Real Asset strategies. Rachit joined Aviva Investors in February 2020 with over 12 years’ experience in corporate governance and sustainability having previously served as Deputy Head of UK research coverage at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and also lead smaller companies and investment trusts’ research team at ISS. Rachit has an MBA in Finance and holds the CFA UK’s Certificate in ESG Investing.
Julie Moret
Global Head of ESG, Franklin Templeton Investment Management
Julie Moret joined Franklin Templeton in 2013. Ms. Moret provides strategic leadership globally for the firm's ESG activities. She and her team partners with investment groups to support efforts to evolve and strengthen integration best practice of explicit ESG considerations into Franklin Templeton's general investment philosophy, process and stewardship activities. Ms Moret has 20+ years of experience working in the financial services sector in senior leadership roles most recently prior to Franklin at Aviva Investors. Ms. Moret serves as a member of the investor advisory group at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, in addition to being a member on the Sustainable and Responsible Investment Committee at the UK's Investment Association and ESG Task Force at the Investment Company Institute. Ms Moret holds a B.A. in Economics and M.A. in International Economics from Essex University.
Markus Müller

Markus Müller is Global Head of the Chief Investment Office International Private Bank, Deutsche Bank AG. In this role, he represents as Managing Director the house view of Deutsche Bank International Private Bank on the financial markets and individual asset classes. Markus is a member of Deutsche Banks Group Sustainability Council.
Markus began his career at Deutsche Bank in DB Research as executive assistant to the chief economist. During his studies at Muenster University in Germany, he acquired broad international experience with focus on China, later working as an Economist at Allianz Life Insurance in Shanghai. Markus has held teaching posts in corporate finance and economics, being a visiting scholar at the Frankfurt School of Finance and the University of Bayreuth as well as at the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. In April 2017 Markus Müller was asked by Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment to join the advisory board of the “Carbon Bubble” project, which assesses and evaluates the risks of the transition towards a low-carbon economy for the German financial system.
In January 2019 Markus Müller published his book under the Titel „Neo-Ordoliberalismus – Zukunftsmodell für die Soziale Marktwirtschaft“ at Springer-Gabler.
Jeffrey Mushens

A Chartered Accountant, Jeffrey Mushens has over 40 years’ experience in the City with strong business expertise in four areas, namely; investment trusts, executive responsibility for retail fund management business, implementation of new regulations for financial services businesses and of industry good practice guidance, and relationships with regulators, Government and government departments. Currently Technical Policy Director for TISA, Jeffrey’s responsibilities are focussed on the implementation of regulatory and technical changes, the development of industry good practice guidance for firms and technical solutions to financial services issues. Previously Jeffrey was a member of M&G’s Executive Committee and a main Board Director, setting the strategic direction of what was a public company with a high profile in the retail investment market. Jeffrey has run his own investment company and also worked for a number of investment banks.
Daniel Nevzat

Daniel Nevzat is a manager within Norton Rose Fulbright’s Government Relations and Public Policy practice, based in London.
Daniel advises clients on UK and EU policy matters, with a particular focus on the financial services, energy and commodities sectors. Daniel provides strategic counsel and advocacy support to a range of clients, including financial institutions, corporations and trade associations, drawing on his knowledge of policy, process and key stakeholders.
Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Daniel managed the regulatory affairs function of a global asset management group, advising on regulatory policy, engagement and implementation issues. He then moved to a government affairs consultancy, where he advised banks, asset managers and market operators on policy and political matters.
Alex Smith

Alexander Smith is head of strategic and cross-cutting policy at the FCA and is responsible for the FCA’s cross-cutting policy initiatives including sustainable finance, operational resilience, senior managers and certification regime and prudential policy. Alexander joined the FCA from the Association of British Insurers in 2011. During his time at the FCA, he has led a range of projects including in relation to retail investment distribution, pension freedoms and firm culture.
