The preparations for the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which has been dubbed as the most notable climate event since the Paris Agreement, are well underway. Participants are expected to commit to more ambitious targets towards net-zero during the summit, which is being held in Glasgow and hosted by the UK Government.

The financial services industry has an instrumental role to play in the transition to net-zero, through its ability to mobilise capital and engage with investors, companies and citizens. This is well illustrated in the increase in demand from investors for ESG investing, which accelerated the inflows to ESG funds in 2020 and saw an unparalleled level of ESG product launches. With the financial sector focused on setting targets to achieve sustainability objectives and the Government and the Regulators intensifying their efforts to promote the UK as a global financial leader in ESG, TISA’s ESG conference will explore the challenges and opportunities facing investors, consumers and businesses.
