TISA launches enhanced website with greater focus on consumers

February 6, 2008

Extending its web presence into the consumer space, today TISA launches its new website www.tisa.uk.com . The site has been totally redesigned and broadened to reflect the fundamentally consumer-centric nature of the Government savings schemes of concern to the Association.

For the first time, the new site will have a consumers’ area called Guide to Savings where interested surfers can find generic financial information on Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs), Child Trust Funds (CTFs), and the Savings Gateway pilot. In the near future, additional sections will be added on other savings products such as pensions, investment bonds and the Government’s proposals for Personal Accounts, as well as extending the available information in other areas such as wrap platforms. Consumers can get answers to frequently asked questions and consult a section with links for further information.

ISA Director General Tony Vine-Lott said,

‘We wanted to create a resource of information to help consumers make the most of their savings. The consumer section of our site will go a long way towards answering some of the basic questions about savings and investments and the tax-incentivised schemes available. We are looking to expand the consumer content even further and are already in discussions with partners to assist us. Our aim is to be the most authoritative site on consumer savings in the UK.’

The Member’s site has also been expanded. While it still has exhaustive technical information and resources, it now has detailed information on TISA activities. Members are able to see information on training and events; the minutes of meetings and know more about the make-up of the Advisory Councils. Members will also be able to find useful information on TISA’s work in new policy areas, such as distribution and retirement.

Carol Knight, Head of Member Services, said,

‘We hope members and non-member will explore our new site. We’ve taken account of feedback given to us based on experiences with the old site and made improvements with those preferences in mind. This is still very much a work in progress, so we encourage visitors to continue giving us constructive feedback.’
