iShares Treasury Bond 20 year UCITS ETF – US4642874329 – 2874329
For the purposes of the ISA regulations, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are treated as collective investment schemes. As no such schemes are authorised by the FCA in the UK, only non-UK domiciled ETFs can qualify for ISA inclusion. Schemes must either be EEA based UCITS compliant schemes which are recognised by the FCA under section 236A FSMA 2000 and admitted to the FCA’s Temporary Marketing Permissions Regime (TMPR) or EEA/non-EEA schemes which are recognised under sections 270/272 FSMA 2000.
So, the listing on the NASDAQ for EFTs isn’t relevant as they would need to on the FCA register (status – recognised) to qualify for ISA inclusion.
This fund appears to be recorded on the Financial Services Register as being recognised by the FCA and evidence suggests that the fund is UCITS compliant and therefore recognised under section 236A FSMA 2000. On that basis, the fund will be stocks & shares ISA qualifying. See link for FCA register below.
If you check the FCA Register, it’s a UCITS compliant fund that is part of the Temporary Marketing Permissions Regime (TMPR) so, on that basis, it has to be domiciled/registered in a EEA state.
If you check the link for the fund’s umbrella fund (iShares IV Public Limited Company) – link below, you’ll see that it’s registered in Dublin, Ireland.
