This fund is authorised by the FCA in the collective investment scheme sourcebook (COLL) as a UCITS scheme and will therefore qualify for stocks & shares ISA inclusion by virtue of being an ‘authorised fund’ (see ISA Guidance Notes https://www.gov.uk/guidance/stocks-and-shares-investments-for-isa-managers#ukucits ).
The way it works is that the ‘umbrella’ fund is ‘authorised’ by the FCA and is identified as such on the FCA Register.
If you search directly for a ‘sub-fund’, with the Global Opportunities Fund (link below), this will be recorded on the FCA Register as ‘Approved’ as opposed to ‘Authorised’.
The way it works is that it is only the umbrella fund that applies for and receives the FCA authorisation. When sub-funds are added to an umbrella fund, they are ‘effectively ‘approved’ as being one of the available sub-funds.
So as long as the ‘umbrella’ fund has ‘authorised’ status on the FCA Register and the sub-fund is also listed as one of the sub-funds than that is fine and OK for ISA purposes.
