BLOG: Meet our Assistant Relationship Manager, Fazal Khan

For this month’s Engage, we’re getting to know Fazal Khan, who recently joined TISA as our Assistant Relationship Manager. Fazal shares a little about his background, his journey to TISA, his experience so far and what he’s looking forward to as part of the team, including getting involved in our upcoming events.
- Please introduce yourself and tell us what brought you to TISA.
Hello everyone, I am Faz Khan and I live in North London. I had a successful career in NatWest for 20 years before I decided to take a career break. It gave me the chance to travel and spend more time with my family, which was great. In the summer, I came across the job advert for an Assistant Relationship Manager role at TISA. Over the years I have met employees from non-profit organisations and what struck me was how much they enjoyed their roles and how rewarding and interesting they found them. I was also aware that NatWest was a member of TISA, so I decided to apply.
- You have just joined TISA – how have your first few days been, and what have you enjoyed most about getting started?
Everyone has been really friendly. Both Claire and Jill have been very welcoming and are easing me in gently. I have met people from different Policy teams, Operations, Marketing and Events. It actually makes a refreshing change to be working for a smaller organisation where it feels more personal and you get to meet senior people in different parts of the business so soon.
- Can you tell us a little about your role as Assistant Relationship Manager and what you’ll be getting involved with?
In my role as Assistant Relationship Manager, I will be building strong, positive relationships with both new and existing members, assisting with member communication, engagement and onboarding. I will also be supporting events and member activities while collaborating closely with internal teams at TISA.
- What are you most looking forward to when it comes to building relationships with and supporting TISA’s members?
I am a people person, having spent half my NatWest career as a Relationship Manager. So I am looking forward to speaking with members and finding out about their organisations and showing them how they can get the most out of TISA.
- What are you hoping to learn and develop in your new role at TISA?
I am constantly learning, so it will be rewarding for me to find out how member organisations work, as well as learning more about everything we do at TISA, from policy working groups to arranging conferences and events.
