The ISA qualifying rules for shares are that shares need to be either ‘listed on a recognised stock exchange’ or ‘admitted to trading on a recognised stock exchange in the European Economic Area (EEA) including the UK.
On 5 August 2013, the ISA regulations were amended to permit shares ‘admitted to trading on a recognised stock exchange in the European Economic Area (EEA) including the UK’ to be ISA qualifying.
So, if a share is traded on a market segment in the EEA eg. Euronext Growth Dublin, the share, although not listed, is still admitted to trading on an EEA recognised stock exchange.
