Mauritius Commercial Bank – XS2614704893

April 20, 2023

These notes are treated as ‘securities’ for ISA qualification purposes. To qualify for ISA inclusion in most cases, either the security or the shares in the issuing company need to be listed on a recognised stock exchange or admitted to trading on a recognised stock exchange in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK. If neither of these conditions are met, if the issuing company is at least a 75% subsidiary in a parent company whose shares meet the above listing requirement, the security will also qualify (see ISA Guidance https://www.gov.uk/guidance/stocks-and-shares-investments-for-isa-managers#compsecur ).

In this case, the security itself doesn’t appear to be listed and the issuing company (Mauritius Commercial Bank) has no listed share capital however, the Mauritius Commercial Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of the MCB Group (see link below) whose shares are listed on the Official Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (see link below) which is a recognised stock exchange therefore, on that basis, these notes should qualify for stocks & shares ISA inclusion.
