Membership Plus Fair Use Policy

Membership Plus (M+) Terms and Fair Use Policy for Unlimited Attendance at Events
back to M+ home

TISA is dedicated to providing a fair and enjoyable experience for all attendees of our events. To enable the widest participation, and ease of registration for member firms, TISA offers unlimited access to TISA events by annual subscription to ‘Membership Plus’. It should be noted that this is a facility for event attendance only and does not include training courses and workshops.

To ensure fairness and the best possible experience for everyone, we have established the following Terms and Fair Use Policy regarding unlimited attendance at our events. By participating in Membership Plus, you agree to adhere to these guidelines:

  1.  Unlimited Attendance Privileges

Members who have subscribed to Membership Plus are granted unlimited attendance to our events, subject to availability and capacity limits, for multiple employees within the specified timeframe without additional charges. This is intended to enhance the attendee experience, and provide flexibility in choosing which events to attend, and which employees can attend them. Attendees are expected to comply with the TISA Code of Conduct which can be seen here and our Terms & Conditions for event attendance here.

  2.  Reasonable Use

Unlimited attendance privileges are intended for use by the member firms permanent and contractual employees and should not be exploited or abused. While participants are encouraged to take advantage of the flexibility offered by unlimited attendance, they are expected to do so in a reasonable manner. This includes:

  • Attending sessions that align with their interests and objectives.
  • Not sharing or transferring unlimited attendance privileges to other organisations.
  • Taking advantage of the opportunity to network with industry peers, but not engaging in any direct sales activity that may distract from the purpose of the event.
  1.  Capacity Limits

While Membership Plus subscription grants users the flexibility to attend multiple events, capacity limits may apply to individual events based on venue size, technology limitations, or other factors. Users are advised to make reservations early using the online booking system. On occasion, where an event is oversubscribed and a firm has registered multiple delegates, it may be necessary to ask a firm to reduce the number of attendees to allow the maximum number of firms to participate. These situations will be on a case by case basis and TISA will communicate these limits to the primary contact for the TISA membership. There will be no priority access to events for Membership Plus firms.

  2.  Reservation and Cancellation

While unlimited attendance allows for flexibility in event participation, all places must be booked in advance via the online booking system for each event they plan to attend. This helps us manage capacity and ensure a positive experience for all attendees. Users are expected to cancel their reservations in a timely manner if they are unable to attend, allowing others the opportunity to participate. Users are expected to avoid behaviours that may disrupt or inconvenience others, including:

  • Making reservations for events they do not intend to attend.
  • Repeatedly cancelling reservations at the last minute without valid reasons.

TISA reserves the right to monitor attendance patterns and enforce the Terms and Fair Use Policy to ensure compliance. If abuse or misuse of unlimited attendance privileges is detected, TISA will in the first instance arrange a conversation with the firm in question to resolve any issues they may be experiencing in using the Membership Plus subscription.

However, if issues are not resolved, TISA may take appropriate action, including but not limited to:

  • Adjusting attendance privileges or imposing limits on the number of sessions attended.
  • Suspending or revoking attendance privileges.

TISA may update or modify these Terms and Fair Use Policy for unlimited attendance at events as necessary. Changes will be communicated to participants through our website, event announcements, or other appropriate channels. Continued participation in our events after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

  1.  Subscription and renewal

Subscription to Membership Plus will be for 12 months from the date of renewal of the TISA membership and no mid-year refunds will be issued.

In the first year of Membership Plus, commencing 1st July 2024, a firm may subscribe to Membership Plus in advance on their usual renewal date.  In this case, the Membership Plus fee will be prorated for the number of months remaining until the membership renewal date.  Subscription will be for the full membership year thereafter.

As with TISA membership, subscription to Membership Plus will be on a rolling annual basis unless the primary contact for the membership advises TISA otherwise.
