MPs to headline at TISA Annual Conference
Three Members of Parliament will speak at the TISA Annual Conference in November, the Association has announced. Mark Hoban MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury; Christopher Leslie MP the Shadow Financial Secretary to The Treasury and the Minister of State for Work & Pensions, Steve Webb MP will each deliver a keynote address.
Joining them on the conference programme will be Margaret Cole, the FSA’s Director of Enforcement and Financial Crime; Tim Shakesby, Lead Policy Officer – PRIPs at the European Commission and the Chief Economist of The Taxpayers’ Alliance, David Smith.
Tony Vine-Lott, Director General of TISA said:
“Regulation in general, and the RDR in particular, the need to encourage more people to save for their retirement, the influence of the European Commission in areas like packaged retail investment products and uncertain conditions in the world’s economic markets are having a fundamental impact on the UK’s retail savings and investment sector.
“It’s imperative that all of us who work in this industry make sure we are well informed on the key issues and I am delighted that TISA has been able to attract such an influential line-up of speakers to share their views. This conference offers members and non-members alike an ideal opportunity to hear what the future holds from the people who really matter.”
TISA’s Annual Conference is taking place on 16 November in London and will run from 12.45 to 18.00. In addition to the plenary speakers there will be a panel session chaired by Kenn Taylor, Head of Life and Pensions at Navigant Consulting and an exhibition.
