National Coalition for Workplace Savings Official Launch

June 17, 2026

On Tuesday 16th June, we were delighted to officially launch the National Coalition of Workplace Savings, kindly hosted by The BlackRock Foundation at their City of London offices.

This new employer-led Coalition is convened by Nest Insight, Money and Pensions Service and TISA and has been formed to help UK workers build emergency savings through the workplace, in order to help them become more financially resilient.

The initiative, established through the Government’s financial inclusion strategy, brings together organisations from a range of sectors and launched with 21 signatories today that represent over 400,000 employees across retail, hospitality, transport, facilities management, the public sector and charities. It aims to increase access to workplace savings schemes and encourage more people to build a regular savings habit.

The launch marks an important first step towards helping to build financial resilience for many people across the country.

We are really pleased to be supporting the Coalition and it’s work, and are very grateful for the support of our steering group of employers, representing hundreds of thousands of workers across the UK, as well as all of our employer partners, supporters and signatories, many of whom were in attendance at the event.

With many thanks to Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health (UNSGSA), Rachel Blake MP, Economic Secretary to HM Treasury, and Sarah Pritchard, Deputy Chief Executive of the Financial Conduct Authority, for delivering the keynote sessions and for their support.

Rachel Blake, Economic Secretary to the Treasury said:

“Everyone should have the opportunity to build financial resilience, but we know that when household budgets are stretched, saving can be difficult.

The Government’s Financial Inclusion Strategy creates more opportunities for people to save through workplace savings schemes. Working with employers across sectors, this Coalition will help make workplace savings schemes easier to access and support more working people to build regular savings habits and a financial safety net. I strongly encourage employers to get behind this scheme today.”
