PIMA WELCOMES ISAs REACHING 14 MILLION SAVERS

November 28, 2002

The Treasury has issued new figures for ISA savings which show over 14 million ISA accounts have been opened since the tax-free wrapper was launched in 1999.

Gordon Brown’s Pre-Budget report also showed ISA saving had now reached the £100bn mark.

Tony Vine-Lott, director-general of PIMA, said:

‘Reaching the £100bn mark in ISA sales in just three years is a fantastic achievement and really does show that, even in difficult investment markets, consumers increasingly recognise the benefits of tax-free saving.’
