Savers’ confidence up right across the board

First quarters ISA sales figures released by the HNRC reveal more savers are investing in greater amounts in all types of ISAs.

Savers have invested over £12 bn in the first quarter. The number of saver is up 7.4 per cent. on the same period, with total inflows up 12.16 per cent. Stocks and shares are up almost 10 per cent and cash by over 13 per cent.

PIMA Director-General, Tony Vine-Lott said,

[i]‘The statistics released by the HMRC today demonstrate the activeness of ISAs as a savings vehicle. These figures demonstrate that confidence in both cash & equity investments is growing strongly.

Vine-Lott also said, ‘People are responding positively to the Chancellor’s ongoing commitment to the ISA as the cornerstone of the Government’s savings policy.’
