BLOG: TISA Big Picture Conference 2026: That’s a Wrap

June 29, 2026

There are no magic wands for the challenges facing UK financial services. But bring the right people into the room, and the big picture starts to come into focus.

In our conference, we did exactly that.

For our sixth annual Big Picture Conference, kindly hosted by Legal Partner CMS UK in the City and supported by Principal Partner EY, leaders from across the financial sector and policymakers came together to explore the megatrends shaping the next decade.

Three Themes That Shaped the Day

💻 From Products to Personalisation, Making Financial Services Ready for the AI Decade

AI and data are reshaping advice, risk management and customer engagement. The panel explored what it means to move from a product-led model to one built around the individual, and what that demands of firms in terms of data capability, operating models and culture.

One theme came through clearly: AI is a powerful co-pilot, but good customer outcomes still relies on human touch. The firms best placed to thrive will be those that use technology to remove friction and free up time for the interactions that truly matter.

📋 Redesigning the Rulebook, Regulation, Accountability and Competitive Advantage

Can the UK’s principles-based regulatory model keep pace with rapid innovation, and can it become a source of competitive advantage rather than a constraint?

The panel examined what accountability looks like in an increasingly automated environment, and how firms and policymakers can work together to build a framework that protects consumers while enabling the innovation that benefits them.

💰 Capital, Confidence and the Consumer, Building a Nation of Investors

How do we mobilise pensions and retail capital to drive long-term growth? And what will it take to build a more engaged, confident nation of investors?

The discussion explored a persistent tension: many people have the financial capacity to invest, but confidence remains the real barrier. Connecting household savings with productive investment in the UK economy is not just good for consumers, it is good for competitiveness and growth. Getting there will require collaboration across industry, government and regulation.

The Conversation Continues

These themes are far from resolved, and that is the point. The discussions started at the Big Picture Conference will continue across our event programme.

Next up: our Annual Flagship Conference on 17 November 2026. We hope to see you there.
