TISA seminar to debate the implications of the Emergency Budget

June 14, 2010

The implications of the first Budget to be held by the new Coalition government are to be examined at a special TISA – Tax Incentivised Savings Association – seminar on 29th June.

There has already been much speculation about what the Emergency Budget on June 22nd will contain, but it is certain that change will be a constant factor as the Chancellor sets out a new approach to tackling the deficit.

TISA’s seminar will consider the impact of the Emergency Budget from the viewpoints of leading commentators who will give their opinion on the content of the Budget, what the government is hoping to achieve, what impact it will have and what it will mean for the financial services industry in particular.

Speakers include:
Shaun Crawford, Partner, Ernst & Young
Matthew Elliott, CEO, Taxpayers Alliance
David Hazelton, Head of Business Development (Retail), Raymond James
John Lappin, Freelance Journalist
Verona Smith, Head of Proposition, Cofunds
David White, CEO, The Children’s Mutual

Tony Vine-Lott the TISA Director General says:

“This is going to be one of the most important Budgets in recent years. The Chancellor is going to be making crucial decisions that will fundamentally impact on the way in which people save money – particularly to meet their long term financial needs – and I hope to see the emergence of a national savings strategy. Our seminar will be held a week after the Budget, by which time the dust will have settled and the small print will have been examined in detail so that we can have an informed debate.”

The seminar will be held in Central London on June 29th from 13.00 to 17.00. Delegate fees are £160 for TISA members (£250 non-members). Further details from TISA at www.tisa.uk.com, telephone: 01642 666999.
